Job Overview

As a Process CAD Designer in an air separation plant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the design and engineering processes. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with lead/senior engineers and team members to ensure the accurate preparation and updating of Piping & Instrumentation diagrams & Process flow Diagrams, and maintenance of essential documents like line lists, valve lists, tie-in point lists. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the timely completion of all required project deliverables as per the contract. This role offers a great opportunity for professional growth and hands-on experience in process engineering within the cryogenic solutions, support systems, and air separation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers to support the preparation and updating of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) essential for the operation of the air separation plant. Modify and update P&IDs based on given markups.
  • Develop P&IDs from sketches.
  • As Build P&ID as per mark up.
  • Review 3D models based on P&IDs and incorporate any necessary changes into the diagrams to ensure alignment with project requirements and design specifications. part list for P&IDs
  • Prepare key documents such as Line Lists, Valve Lists, and Tie-In Point Lists, which are integral to the execution and operation of the plant's processes.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all required project deliverables as per the contractual agreements. This includes adhering to project timelines and milestones to meet project goals effectively.
  • Research and implement best practices and industry standards for P&ID development and documentation. Introduce standardized symbols, nomenclature, and conventions to improve clarity and comprehensibility.
  • Oversee the updating and revision of P&IDs and key documents in accordance with approved improvement recommendations. Ensure that changes are accurately implemented and documented for future reference.
  • Manage and track the PID part list in Bill of Material’s software.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, operations, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth coordination and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for equipment selection, procurement, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • An ITI in CAD or Diploma in mechanical or chemical engineering is needed and 5 to 10 years of experience in the cryogenic gas industry as a process CAD engineer.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and updating diagrams and documents to maintain consistency and compliance with project requirements.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with engineering teams and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure the timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and operations.
  • Prior experience or knowledge in the air separation industry.
