Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases (CE&IG) India is a subsidiary of Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Group) and incorporated in India. We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our growing Nikkiso CE&IG India team.

Job Overview

The Application Engineer is responsible for preparing quotations for all types of inquiries (budget to purchase phase) and ensure on-time submittal and responses. The Application Engineer is the primary contact for customers at sales stage working in collaboration with the local Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare technical selection and scope of supply in line with customer’s technical requirements.
  • Review project specifications and prepare deviations list, as well as attend and / or respond to technical clarifications requests from the customer.
  • Prepare costs and quotation (price and delivery) based on the performed technical selections and technical clarifications.
  • Work with other departments and suppliers to address any quotation specific requirements.
  • Assist with AE tools development.
  • Domestic and foreign travel to meet with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales team for fielding technical products and application questions.
  • Review inquiries to understand goals of the project, customer needs, and specifications to develop a quote strategy and scope of supply.
  • Prepare technical proposals complete with data sheets, performance curves, lube systems, seal systems and other auxiliary systems.
  • Collaborate with internal departments assisting in quotation and proposal development.
  • Technical support answering question regarding the proposal, modify proposals as needed, and participate in pre-award technical discussions to close orders.
  • Review customer purchase orders ensuring compliance with quoted equipment and specifications.
  • Transfer job with all applicable data to project management after order is received. Participate in a handoff meeting and act as a technical advisor as appropriate throughout the job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Authorities:

 

Should take the overall responsibility and decision for technical closure of the enquiry.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:

 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required
  • 6 to 10 years’ relevant professional experience is required
  • Will have a strong general understanding of engineering sciences and be comfortable engaging in technical communication and decision making.
  • Will have strong communication skills and confidence in representing Nikkiso CMP product line in communications with customers.
  • Knowledge of API 685 & relevant API / ASME standards, Knowledge of Centrifugal pumps
  • Self-directed work team environment requires individual to be a team player and self-starter
  • Will be capable of working both independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Will be dedicated to meet short deadlines and manage multiple customer orders simultaneously with a high degree of ownership for timely and accurate completion.
  • Will have strong attention to detail, and a high degree of focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Will have strong personal organization and time management skills.
  • Position may require travel to support sales channel and customers
