CAD Engineer

A highly skilled technical professional responsible for providing advanced Computer Aided Design expertise in metal fabrication, with a specialization in plate layout and optimization. The role combines technical proficiency in CAD software with comprehensive knowledge for fabricated processes to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing solutions.

Essential Functional:

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of detailed fabrication Parts layouts in Autocad.
• Preparation of Plate Cutting layout and cutting program with Waterjet machine software.
• Preparation of Weld Plan based on fabrication drawing.
• Preparation of document distribution transmittal, Master list and other document.
• Prepare Bill of Material for Pressure vessel and ERP entry of BOM.
• change drawing and prepare sketches as per requirement.
• Maintain the drawings documents and records as per company requirement.
• Responsible for maintaining a record for production planning.
• Maintain ASME, ISO and IMS documentation for the manufacturing department.
• Knowledge of Pressure vessel, fabrication, piping and drafting in 2D software.
• Good knowledge of 2d & 3d software (AutoCAD, inventor or any other 3D software).
• Experience in industrial (oil & gas) design/drafting.
• Experience in material planning in fabrication industry
• Passion for learning.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work independently as well as in a team for smooth material management in planning and manufacturing departments.

Authorities:

• Independent create and modify the plate layout.
• Authority to determine optimal nesting arrangements and sign-off authority for basic plate layout
• Create and maintain technical drawings and develop cutting plan & sequence.
• Authority to estimate material requirement though Indent.
• Permission to allocate CAD resources
• Material issue though ERP/AREV system and stock transfer.
• Authorities for material planning related activities

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Diploma in Mechanical or ITI CAD
• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and math skills
• They must be able to understand complex blueprints and specifications.
• They must also be able to use software programs to develop cost estimates.
• They must also be able to use software programs to create cost estimates.
