Job Overview

Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a dedicated Engineer - Technical Projects to join our team in the Cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) industry. The ideal candidate will support project engineering activities while ensuring alignment with project design basis, contracts, and company objectives. This role involves working on multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to technical excellence in project execution.

Responsibilities

Essential Functional:

Responsibilities:

    • Assist in managing the engineering aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with project design basis, contract requirements, and scope.
    • Work on multiple projects while ensuring smooth coordination with internal teams.
    • Collaborate with Process, Instrumentation, and Design teams for effective project execution.
    • Clarify new project scope and boundary limits to ensure alignment with company objectives.
    • Prepare P&ID major component specifications and support P&ID reviews.
    • Participate in HAZOP studies alongside the Process team and customers.
    • Assist in finalizing the P&ID part list and coordinate with the Design team for layout development.
    • Support engineering documentation and modular design reviews at different project stages.
    • Ensure timely submission of engineering deliverables as per the project schedule.
    • Address technical queries and provide resolutions to support project progress.
    • Maintain records of lessons learned and contribute to post-project evaluations for continuous improvement.

 Authorities:

    • Engineering Documentation Review: Has the authority to review and validate engineering documents, including P&ID, process specifications, and modular design.
    • Coordination & Communication: Authorized to communicate with internal teams (Process, Instrumentation, and Design) to clarify technical details and project boundaries.
    • Vendor & Supplier Interaction: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications and component specifications.
    • Preparation of PO Booking Sheet: Authorized to prepare PO Booking Sheets by gathering technical specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and coordinating with procurement for further processing.
    • HAZOP Participation: Authorized to participate in HAZOP studies, providing technical input alongside process engineers and customers.
    • Technical Decision-Making: Authorized to provide technical input and recommendations on project engineering aspects, ensuring alignment with the project design basis.
    • Implementation of Lessons Learned: Authorized to analyze project challenges, document key learnings, and implement improvements in future projects to enhance efficiency and technical excellence.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in technical project engineering, preferably in the Cryogenic ASU industry.
  • Exposure to P&ID, process design, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage project-related tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of engineering disciplines and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of project process engineering tasks, design, and operations.
  • Ability to assist in technical problem-solving and vendor coordination.
  • Experience with P&ID, process instrumentation, and HAZOP studies.
  • Knowledge of AREV ERP for parts selection and work order structuring is a plus.
  • Strong coordination skills to collaborate with vendors and suppliers.
  • Focus on meeting project milestones and ensuring technical deliverables are met on time.
