Mechanical Design Engineer

Preparation of design calculations, drawing checking and release the design document for further process.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor progress of design stages like design input, design review, design verification and design output.
• Perform design calculation of Pressure Vessel & Heat Exchanger as per ASME code.
• Having sound knowledge of ASME code and Standards for Pressure vessel design.
• Hands on experience of PVELITE software for design of pressure vessel.
• Having proficiency of using MS Excel to perform Manual calculation for pressure vessel.
• Having good command over MS office software and AUTOCAD.
• Prepare Technical Purchase Specification for the Pressure vessel raw material.
• Plan for preparation of drawing for pressure vessel and check the same.
• Release all the design drawing to concern department for further process.
• Get drawing and design approval from Third party as well as clients.
• Communicate third party and client about technical issues and requirement for design appraisal.
• Ensure all design data are available for design and if required communicate with client and get the required data.
• Coordinate for evaluate the performance and the effectiveness of IMS.
• Coordinate for correcting, preventing, or reducing undesired effects.
• Asist for improving including innovation the performance and effectiveness of the
• To change drawing and design calculations as per requirement.
• Maintain the design documents and records as per ASME requirement.
• Responsible for maintaining record for design change.
• Support MR for conducting Internal Quality Audits and improve quality system.

• Identified Needs and Expectations of interested parties.
• Identify Context and related issues.

Software Proficiency:

• PVEITE Software
• Autodesk Inventor
• MS Office tools (Word, XL & Power Point)

Authorities:

• Review and releasing of drawings.
• Releasing of Bill of Material through AREV Software.
• Marking design change / HOLD mark on shop floor.
• Raise Design change request on drawing.
• Vendor GA drawing & Customer Drawing review and approval

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervisory responsibilities of Cad engineer but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Education, Experience and Skills

• BE Mechanical
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Exposure of code & standard: ASME SEC. VIII Div 1 & 2, ASME B31.3, ANSI, ASCE.
• Strong analytical and math skills
• They must be able to understand complex blueprints and specifications.
• They must also be able to use software programs to design Product.
