Job Overview

Responsible for providing technical leadership and making critical technical decisions related to the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Functional:

  • Ensure project requirements are clearly defined, understood and effectively communicated to the team
  • Identify and address project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team leaders to ensure effective project coordination within the budget and meeting client expectations
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement within the team
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional development
  • Develop, monitor and maintain projects/department KPIs as required
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive technical innovation within the company
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project goals and objectives, translating them into actionable plans
  • Communicate prompt responses to external and internal customer comments and inquiries, maintaining excellent customer service
  • Ensure the team adheres to best practices in engineering design, project management and quality assurance
  • Participating in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations
  • Promote compliance with applicable standards, regulations and company policies.
  • During the first year of an employment, the candidate shall be required to travel to different locations, like Korea, China, and the US, up to 100 days to gain the necessary experience (including sailing and onshore).

 

  • Authorities:
  • Conduct performance evaluations; provide feedback to team members on their technical capabilities, project contributions, and interactions with both internal and external clientele.
  • Review/approve and support team members with timecard entry, work order assignments and PTO requests.

Supervisory Responsibility:

The position supervises project engineers within their team as assigned by the Director, Engineering.

 

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in engineering project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in the relevant engineering discipline(s).
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends in engineering.
