Quality Specialist III

To ensure products meet quality standards set by NCIPL,Ensure ASME, IMS and ISO 3834 requirements.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Review the new ASME Sect. IX issued and updated the Welding Procedure accordingly.
• Release the Incoming Welding Consumable.
• Review the Weld Map & Weld Plan prepared by Engineer(Welding)
• Review the MOCICL prepared by Engineer(Welding)
• Review and issue of the Final Welder List prepared by Engineer(Welding)
• Based on a satisfactory review of Laboratory test reports, he shall review and certify the PQR and welder/welding operator Performance Qualification Records prepared by the Engineer (Welding).
• Review Welder’s Continuity updated by Engineer Welding.
• Final inspection of weld joints.
• Calibration of welding machine and welding equipment.
• Train and qualify new welders as per NCIPL requirements.
• Responsibility to ensure conformity to its integrated management system
• Responsibility for reporting the performance of the IMS and on opportunities for improvement, in particular to Management.
• Responsibility for measuring, monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of IMS Objective
• Responsibility for maintaining and being made available extended necessary organizational knowledge.
• Responsibility for retaining and maintaining documented information
• Responsibility for control planned changes and review consequences of unintended changes and taking mitigation action for any adverse effect.
• Responsibility for correcting, preventing, or reducing undesired effects.
• Responsibility for improving, including innovation, the performance and effectiveness of the IMS
• Acceptance and rejection of the welding consumable
• All tasks of Engineer (Welding) are to be performed in their absence. 

Authorities :

• Authority to stop the non-conforming work.
• Accept and reject the material.
• Authority to discontinue the welder or welding operator if not performed up to the mark.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Education and Experience.

• B.E Mechanical with 8 to 12 years of experience required.
• Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Quality System auditing and reporting experience.
• In depth working knowledge of IECEx ATEXISO 9001 standards.
• Understanding of standard manufacturing and safety compliance processes.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
